Herbalist since 2004, in 2 weeks i do my annual class taking people into the hills, harvesting pine medicines and education about all the pine medicines, needles, pollen, sap, and even pine cones can be used for syrups for food or colds. I use a pine tree here that the paiutes used for hundreds of years

Leave it to the Paiutes to know that pine needle tea was medicinal. Whatever happened to all our ancient wisdon and knowledge? Oh, that's right, the younger generation's got a sthmartphone and didn't listen to their elders. I purchased the pine needle tea from Russia because their trees are the finest and most glorious in my opinion.

I have a question. Cliff mentions pine needle essential oils. Would you let us know what a good dosage of that would be? I don't have access to pine trees. Thank you.

Buy a Eastern White Pine baby and plant it! They are lovely trees. Soft silky long needles.

I live in a state where the white pine was a one of the main trees harvested around the 1900’s. My father told me the companies had scouts on the ground looking for stands of trees. Lacking satellites and any significant airplanes in a flattish, thickly forested environment made for interesting detection techniques. Believe it or not, the scouts actually LISTENED for the peculiar sound of the pine needles rustling in the breeze.

I worked for state forest as a patrolman as a kid . The state planted its own red and white pines , but the red being a southern variety got bore beetles and got culled for fire wood . They would steal the seeds from the squirrel mounds in the forest near the camp grounds

Very neat. Geologists and archeologists also check out animal burrows as you likely know.🐿️

Hi DOF and thank you for the suggestion. Would you know how long does it take to grow an Eastern White Pine to maturity (ish)?

Expand full comment

25-30 years to harvest wood . But the needles will be abundant in only a few years

Thank you, Keith! I just want to plant some trees! I will be out of this world in 20 years. Tree planting seems a great legacy to leave behind!

Here's a thing.

I ordered Pine needle Tea from Eastern Europe during the roll out of the needle, as I read that it had beneficial effects against that medical experiment. The package had a tracking number, which I followed. All the way to the sorting depot in Dublin. I enquired to the reason why I never received it, but the only means of communication was through a fucking chatbot. I never got my Tea.

Those fuckers knew.

I got my pine needle tea on Amazon, but only because I sent it to a jabbed friend I try to keep alive . He told me he got a flu shot last week . OMg

Expand full comment

I just got an email from my son’s school asking for consent for a nasal flu spray ‘shot’ in December. He is 12. I did not consent and told them why in the limited space they gave you to type a response. It’s a damn industry. Kids especially do not need these jabs, sprays but I guess they are conditioning them into believing that the state knows your health best. It’s really being ramped up. I studied horticulture and know my plants very well. Very in to the medicinal aspects of plants too. Look up Houttynia cordata - grows like a maniac (So keep in a pot) but has anti cancer properties. I chew a leaf now and again. It’s a bit bitter but heh probably worth it.

Just read a post from Japan somewhere that had a article from the Japanese times , October 1 roll out of a 5 combined plus on RNA lipid jab . And the ambulance sirens are now non stop.

Except haven't most of the mountains rural areas been sprayed with chemtrails?

How do they extract the chemtrails/ I assume its absorbed by the soil and hence the trees. Or maybe they are immune to it due to the natural anti-oxidant make-up?

~ idk, just asking

They must really think we are either just plain idiots or we never look up at the sky. I’m so sick of looking at these stripes and then having the weather change. We had clear blue skies in Canada for the majority of my youth. Now it is rare.

You can use the needles from all conifers -- like spruce ( especially in higher elevations) fir and even hemlock which is not poisonous like the hemlock plant. White pine can be identified by its cluster of five needles. The best needles are those located at the tips. Not so good in summer as the trees tend to dry a bit.

Pine is one of my favorite trees for medicine especially for harvesting resin.and if you monitor when the flowers bloom, you can harvest the very potent pollen.

Expand full comment

Yes! I see that pollen on the tips of the new growth in the spring. Love my White Pines. They don't stab you when to touch them. Spruces leave a rash on my arms after decorating them for Christmas, but My Mom, Rest her Soul, always love the Blue Spruces best for Yule Trees. :)

So i used your queries as input and asked how to remove tannins

To remove or reduce tannins while preserving beneficial components in pine needle tea, here are a few focused methods:

1. Cold Brewing

• How it works: Tannins are more soluble in hot water. Cold brewing involves steeping pine needles in cold or room-temperature water for an extended period (e.g., 12-24 hours).

• Benefits: This reduces the extraction of tannins while retaining heat-sensitive compounds like vitamin C and flavonoids.

• Drawback: The process takes longer than traditional hot brewing.

2. Short Steeping Time

• How it works: Tannins are extracted gradually. A quick steep (1-2 minutes) in hot water limits tannin release.

• Benefits: You can still capture most bioactive compounds (like vitamins, flavonoids, and terpenes), without the astringent tannins.

• Drawback: The tea will be lighter in flavor and strength.

3. Double Infusion (Rinse Method)

• How it works: Quickly steep the pine needles in hot water for 30 seconds, discard the first batch of water (which will contain a higher concentration of tannins), and then brew the tea as usual.

• Benefits: This removes a portion of the tannins without losing a significant amount of beneficial compounds.

• Drawback: Some minor loss of bioactive compounds in the initial rinse.

4. Dilution

• How it works: After brewing, dilute the tea with more water to reduce the overall concentration of tannins.

• Benefits: You maintain all the bioactive compounds while reducing the astringent effect of tannins.

• Drawback: The flavor may be milder, which can be compensated for by increasing the amount of pine needles used in brewing.

5. pH Alteration (Using a Small Amount of Baking Soda)

• How it works: Adding a very small pinch of baking soda (just a tiny bit) to the tea will alter the pH, reducing the solubility of tannins.

• Benefits: It may help reduce tannins while preserving other compounds, though this method requires precise control to avoid altering the flavor.

• Drawback: Overuse can impact flavor and texture.

6. Choose Younger Pine Needles

• How it works: Younger, fresh pine needles generally have lower tannin content than older, mature needles.

• Benefits: This allows you to brew with lower tannin levels from the start while preserving other beneficial compounds.

• Drawback: This is dependent on the availability of young pine needles.

By using one or a combination of these methods, you can selectively reduce tannins while retaining most of the beneficial components in pine needle tea. Cold brewing and shorter steep times are particularly effective without compromising other bioactive elements.

Good post......a more robust alternative is Pine Tar Turpentine. It can be found on amazon or here:

http://www.diamondgforestproducts.com/

It works. Been using it since forever. A spoon of sugar, to carry it better, with 5-10 drops dripped in will do. It will knock out "covid type" colds, flu, parasites and stomach ailments. Its a overall good tonic.

In Total, I skipped school for a grand total of 7 half days. I spent 3 years in hell. The judge was the same judge that did my folks divorce. I skipped, because I didn't see why I had to watch Mr brown charm and impress young ladies . Aka groom them . I knew what he was doing. This is when pins, came out thanks killery, and they nailed me . I was assaulted, programed and tortured. Close to where Doug is who's investigating hopefully these med bed centers.. I paid a price . I knew after being bribed and blackmailed by that sick twisted system. It's true is all about control and money .

The shit I had to see and endure at that age ... Fucked me up. But that wasn't the first time . The feds kidnapped me in Colorado springs)manatu. They took me to the airforce base there. I swore I never thought I'd see me father again the day they stole me. To this day I still can't remember the faces of the general and his wife . I was there 2 weeks. all I remember is getting there being in the basement on a bunk bed in the corner at 8 years old they had about 6 unit's of those bunk beds. I remember seeing my dad in the court hall. And the lady house wife from the base gave me a rocket Popsicle. After that all I remember is seeing my dad . Strange when I can remember almost everything. But I can not remember their faces nor that time being there.
