One question I've had for some time: When analyzing ancient texts, how do you distinguish accurate historical accounts from ancient fiction? A lot of this stuff sounds like "science fiction" written long ago. Not saying that it's still not very interesting because it tells us what the human mind can create--then compared to now. I believe most ancient apparent fiction...myths, etc....were at one time historical accounts of phenomena that couldn't be described accurately by the people who saw them or were deliberately written to be symbolic. In some cases, religions developed along two lines, one that told the real story to advanced initiates and another that was written for the hoi polloi they felt would profane it. There seems to have been some awareness of a dark age coming where the information could be lost or twisted (just as it WAS in the kali yuga). This was true for ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia and some say the Old Testament is such a writing. The only way you could tell is to look for the truth in hidden meanings known by initiate lines. Some say the occult secret societies preserve such information from remote antiquity, some say they're looking for it. Hitler was definitely looking for it. The truths seem to have referred to spiritual awakening such as the Osiris tale of resurrection. Jesus said he taught different things to people of differing understanding. I'd forgotten about the Miami sighting, but I thought it was a stunt. There was another sighting in Brazil, if I'm recall, of an exceptionally tall figure on a hilltop ridge.
