If you're interested, Paul Wallis (5th Kind videos on YT), half English/half West African theologian in Australia talks a lot about the West Africans' lore re: the Nimmo too; they come out of the ocean and entice young people to come with them under the sea (somehow); some of these have even returned apparently to tell the tale. There are so many such tales that it seems clear that there are races/civilizations living under the sea and inside the Earth (think: Antarctica). Absolutely, in fact Meher Baba explained at length this is the huge folly of suicide victims in that they have not completed their necessary experience so can't progress until they have through posession of those intoxicated via alcohol or some hard drugs. These disincarnates cannot go back as they've destroyed the body before time and cannot proceed due to residual unspent impressions, (sanskaras). There are lots of styles of meditations - the correct one is the one that appeals to you and the one you are likely to use everyday - mantra meditation, breath guided mediation are the two largest categories. Mantra meditation would be like Transcendental Meditation - TM - (my preferred meditation) and a good example of breath guided meditation would be like Yogananda's 'Hong-Sau'. But there's lots of choices for everyone.
I agree. I'm surprised Clif didn't explore mantra meditation. I also practice TM because it is the most effective for me. Every. Damn. Day. Twice a day. Can't live without the experience. Blessings!
Clif said he has practiced many different kinds of meditation, but the two that “work best for him” are Vipassiana and Za-zen. So I’m sure he has done mantra at some point, but that was not what worked best for him.
Mr. Clif High—There are temporary but simple workarounds for your wife’s inaccessible bathroom problem. Buy a heavy duty well designed portable toilet — they work well with plastic bag liners— and put it in the room that works best for your wife. Worked for my 200#, 6’4” husband after the remodeled bathroom with widened doorway was no longer useful for him. You will give yourself time to think and a faster opportunity for your wife to be home. Thank you and prayers.
Thanks for encouraging us on in our meditations Clif, it is what so many people need right now...but actually, one can in fact spring up from lotus position. Or maybe I am just biased because I'm Korean and as an Asian, it is natural and comfortable for us to squat. I've sprung up from a cross-legged position on many occasions. I think the advantage of sitting in a cross legged position, with the stomach pulled in, the shoulders pulled back, the chin even with the floor, and the gaze focused up, is ideal because it aligns all the chakras of the spine and still allows one to sit comfortably enough to forget the body and truly go within...the movie Fearless with Jet Li comes to mind, Li has major Chi.
Totally agree! It is a great position for meditation. By crossing the legs, the body's energy pathways are closed off in a way that helps prevent Qi from "leaking" out through the legs, promoting better circulation of energy within the body's core, especially around the Lower Dantian.
