Man, could y’all imagine clif high writing fiction? I started reading it I was like, did

Did Asimov just come out with a new one?

Expand full comment

Asimov may be gone, but he lives on in his books!

Expand full comment

I believe Asimov was a plagiarist -

Expand full comment

And also a hostile, self-important, entitled jerk, if my contacts with him revealed anything

Expand full comment

Well, if he was, he was certainly a prolific plagiarist! Who / What? His sci-fi or his science books?

I am 71 but my memory is clear. When my sister was in 8th grade she was required to write a little story. She did and my mom thought it is so good she could send it in to this place that people could send short stories in and maybe get published. They wrote back saying it was no good. But years later when I was in my early 20’s I was surprised to see my sister’s story written by Asimov just a few word changes but almost exactly as she wrote it. And yes I read a lot of science fiction and also know that writers are also looking for “new” ideas. A real inspired writer shouldn’t need to get their stuff from others. I have written a few things but nothing I thought worth publishing. College professors are the worst at garnishing ideas from students.

Wow, sorry to hear that, but I'm not really surprised, And Asimov isn't the only one, most likely.

I hope that didn't discourage your sister from continuing to write!

Almost everything he writes and speaks about is fiction. ✌️

This was very much like my near death experience, except that I got kicked back to my body. That was rough. Also, there was a kind of music, and I was a part of it. It was like being in an enormous orchestra or choir, only I was not just making music, I was the music, along with all of the other "sparks" (only I would have called them orbs) and that amazing Center of the Universe. There was an overwhelming feeling of unconditional love, and I knowledge that I had come home. Then I was reminded that I had not completed what I had intended to do in this life, and the next thing I knew, I was waking up in ICU.

Wow. So cool and fascinating

The book series the green circle is a fiction w Christian concept and it has this music that is all that is, God us life. You may like it or how it portrays that element of music in our pristine human origins.

The characters would swim into and become healed by and one with the music which was God.

Cliff I depend on your perceptions of space time, history….please, don’t stop…keep sharing with us. Thank you!

And for the love of Universe! Write a sci-fi book!

I’m hoping it’s not fiction. When I meditate sometimes I travel first to blue light, if i can keep my mind quiet, then towards a white light. Past universes, stars and planets. What a glorious ride.

I have had the experience of leaving my body for what appeared to be moments... it was in the early 1980’s. The statement “I can see with no eyes.” Was one of the wondrous aspects of the experience. Though, with my brief ‘venture’ the cord was not released. I remained ‘intact’.

I was exactly as I had been (young and in my late twenties at the time). There was a sense of being timeless, weightless.

Wow! Beautiful Herbertian run on sentence there at the beginning. In fact the whole thing is reminiscent of Herbert with the addition of Clif's creative current of current events flair. Must be something to this OlyPen place... that draws such folk.

You really should consider writing science fiction, Clif. It was very entertaining and that genre is one of my first loves. Thank you.

...yes...but IS it fiction?

Upon reflection, I’ve considered the possibility, that much of what we watched on television, as children and even older, were events and things we were being told which had an element of reality and truth to it. At the time, it was television but now, I understand they’ve been shoving reality in our collective face. I loved Star Trek because I felt, it was a positive future to look forward to and wanted to live in that future. But I liked all the older movies as well, as in Turner Classics because there was something to learn from that as well. Today, what is served to the public, is crap and repeats from those who wrote better film scripts and had imagination. We certainly shall see what the results are, won’t we?

Mine too! My first romance was with Mr. Spock from Star Trek! Boy that was a very long time ago. But I still remember it.

Expand full comment

Spock? Like yesterday for me too. Star Trek, at least, in the beginning of the franchise, was enjoyable. They’ve been going off the deep end lately with their more recent forays into various versions of it. Can’t keep track anymore.

Spock...yes, I guess he broke many teenage hearts including mine :)))

This honestly made me tear up a bit. I don't know why.

Wonderful exert from a book you intend to write, I hope! I too get that Asimov feeling.

Thank you so much for your traveling talks to and from town. I enjoy the variety of topics and your thoughts about them.

Stay frosty and keep us informed Clif.

Geezo a great short short short story, with a good beginning a swift middle and a very satisfying ending.

In my best Homer voice ( Simpson, not the greek dude lol ), " Clif High, is there anything he can't do?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkIwJSuQtyY Cliff, or anybody, are you aware of the theories here from Alan Wilson about Welsh History and the date of the Trojan War being ~648 BC instead of 1200~BC?

Check out Archaix channel on You Tube. Our history is not what we are being told. Archaix is by far the best channel out there. Soon there will be Archaix TV, I think that is what he is calling it. For now, it is only on YouTube. His channel will allow him to not be censored. He has so much information about our past and our future. The timelines are all wrong., and he can prove it.

Thanks for that breadcrumb. Doesn't that align with some cataclysms we're aware of? Pompeii?

Wow, now this is amazing!! This would be a sight to see! Are we so easily amused? I wonder! Or are we so intrigued by something so close we can’t smell it?! Good read! Take care.

LOL. Love it. I wonder what would happen if someone had a near-fatal accident while on DMT and also had a NDE? What you wrote sounds like the experiences reported by those who have NDEs.

Near death experiences. Clif has been there himself. He knows.

A joyful tidbit of brilliance! Forget writing a book it's a pain in the ass. Just enjoy yourself with creating one of these little jewels whenever you fell like it. We are the fortunate ones who get to

enjoy the art of your play! I'm so grateful for you and for ALL of your work. But this is the JOY part.
