Even in WW2 the Japanese military were informed that should they try and invade the US their losses would be massive, and even then the number of rural Americans with hunting experience was much higher than today.
Ok, there are many armed hunters in the USA. From my rural home I hear them practicing. But if an invading force took them out one at a time, how would others know to come help? If an EMP took out communications first, each attack would be a surprise. Maybe in a city, people would know if next door’s being invaded.
