Clif, check out this comment I stumbled across. Looks like they are ruling by regulation not legislation.

I'm in Washington State. This isn't a vote. This is a WAC (Washington Administrative Code) which is defined as: "Regulations of executive branch agencies are issued by authority of statutes. Like legislation and the Constitution, regulations are a source of primary law in Washington State. The WAC codifies the regulations and arranges them by subject or agency. The online version of the WAC is updated twice a month. Copies of the WAC as they existed each year since 2004 are available in the WAC archive."

One way to fight these would be to file a Rule Change Petition which would require them to convene a special hearing to discuss the suggested changes. The idea is that we make suggestions that force them to talk about (publicly) things they don't want to have to address. There are some very smart people in this fight who, I'm sure, could come up with some interesting suggestions that would make the WA BOH run in fear. Can you help me get this idea out there?

The form to use is: https://sboh.wa.gov/Portals/7/Doc/Meetings/2020/01-08/Tab07b-HPVHuffmanPetition.pdf Note that this form is currently prefilled by someone wanting to demand our kids get the HPV vaccine to attend school. The fields will need to be overwritten.

Can you imagine if hundreds or thousands of us filed these petitions? It would be EPIC!

Best Regards,

Heidi Brenneman

Good place to start indeed.

Good place to start. We are talking a blue state. Might be just a bunch of talking heads.

For those in WA, my guess is that the assistants would be a good place to start. The actual "government officials" might indeed ignore everything, but an assistant probably won't. Lots of emails might cause some action.

Or not. IDK at this point.
