Speaking of the supply chain; you guys might want to stock up on some sugar for your Xmas treats. The largest Domino Sugar factory is located in the Baltimore port and the shipment of sugar cane is due in July. It’s probably not going to make it through the bridge fiasco. Stock up on stuff now. Cheers!

Expand full comment

about the last thing.People need to stock up on is sugar. Are you fucking serious

Expand full comment

Yes and no, I saw that a barge got through yesterday in a shallow canal and it was able to get to the Domino factory. You have to consider just how many of our food products contain sugar and how that affects the supply chain. I follow the channel “What’s Going On In Shipping” and Saul has done an excellent job explaining how the Baltimore Bridge Collapse is going. https://youtu.be/8IxY31XlFP0?si=kqM5R6pORF_nMHxz

I agree with you on that but I find it odd (other than for barter as you mentioned subsequent to my comment) that anyone finds stocking up on sugar critical. My bad ~ I am not the person stockpiling it so I know not the motivation. P.S. thanks for the Belly Laugh for the comment "don't make me sprinkle a tsp of sugar on you" : ^ )

Expand full comment

Well, I don't find it critical to stock up on sugar, .... just with the price spiking the way it has over recent months, it's probably better to get some now, rather than after it hits Silly Cost stages. I have a bit of sugar stocked up, yes, but it isn't just for my iced tea. I also stocked up on big jugs of non-dairy creamer, to go with all those cans of coffee I rarely drink. If I'm planning on using coffee for barter, it might go over better if I have the creamer and sugar to go with it.

Of course, by Jill's standard, all those bags of powdered milk I "hoarded" means I am hopelessly addicted to non-fat milk. Now I feel like I should be worried about my beans and rice addiction too lmao

Expand full comment

Exactly sugar the biggest drug that's ever been pushed on the American population. I don't do sugar sugar kills. Sugar causes diabetes. Sugar causes obese Americans. Just take a look around and you idiots. That are completely hoarding sugar, Sorry not sorry, but I hope you all kick the bucket sooner than later.

Expand full comment

Well, I originally started stocking up on sugar, for the same reason I stocked up on big cans of coffee that I rarely drink, ... for barter purposes. But I do like a sprinkle of sugar in my iced tea, but this does not mean I am a fat diabetic American eating Twinkies, Ho-Ho's and Little Debbies all day. Matter of fact, I have spent my whole life avoiding sugar for the most part and now that I'm old and have managed for diabetes and obesity to never even be a thing, I get wished death because I like mildly sweet iced tea? I think you are just being your usual bitter self Jill, ... don't make me sprinkle a tsp of sugar on you. lol

ALL things are BAD, once the level of "Too Much" is reached. Like Too Much Bitchiness for example.

There are worse (Ireland, Portugal, New Zealand, Australia) but there are also better (USA, Switzerland, Austria) so that means that Jews are AVERAGE humans on the one thing that matters most. Expand full comment
Apr 25·edited Apr 25

Yes water glassing is more involved and if one egg is cracked and rots you've lost the whole jar (usually a 2 gallon+ jar). I too found beating two eggs and putting them in silicone ice trays the best. Pop them out when frozen and keep in containers or sealed bags in the freezer

Expand full comment

Interesting idea. Good if the electricity doesn't go out. In a large jar, in a solution, it doesn't require any electricity to keep them though. Not long ago someone gave me the idea that I might be able to dehydrate them, like on the fruit roll-up trays, then crush them into powder in a mortar, .... but I haven't tried it yet.

Expand full comment

Fresh, Unwashed and Unrefrigerated last the longest naturally.

I like them separate, so ice trays work. After their frozen, I remove them and store in Ziploc.

You can buy powered eggs so I guess you could do it yourself?

Expand full comment

I think powdered egg is probably freeze dried, but those units are real pricey. I thought I might try to use a regular dehydrator and se how that goes. If it works, can be put into air tight container and stored on the shelf. But yes, figuring out a measurement of powder equal to one egg would be the tricky part. Of course, figuring out exactly how much water to use to rehydrate them would also be tricky. That's where cracking an egg into an ice tray compartment would really shine. No fuss, no muss, no measuring water or powder, ... but depends on having electricity and freezer space.

And both my freezers are packed, so, no extra space at all.

Expand full comment

For long term storage freeze dried anything is best and it maintains its nutrition as other methods of preserving don't in varying degrees. As for taste, some freeze dried items are better than others

Expand full comment

Very true, but if the cost of purchasing a freeze dryer is prohibitive, .... I'll punt and try another way. I'll take slightly less nutrition value any day, ... over outright starvation.

It's not coal, it's a Deadly light ash

Expand full comment

Deadly light ash from?

Expand full comment

It's called Fly Ash, it's a waste product.

Fly ash is a byproduct from burning pulverized coal in electric power generating plants. It is a finely divided residue that results from the combustion of pulverized coal and is transported from the combustion chamber by exhaust gases. The composition of fly ash varies depending on the type of coal used, but it typically consists of silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, iron oxide, calcium oxide, and loss on ignition (LOI).

Fly ash is captured after coal combustion by filters (bag houses), electrostatic precipitators, and other air pollution control devices. It is most commonly used as a high-performance substitute for Portland cement or as clinker for Portland cement production. Cements blended with fly ash are becoming more common.

Fly ash is also used in concrete, where it can improve the workability, strength, and durability of the material. It can also reduce the amount of Portland cement needed, which can help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, fly ash can be used as a soil amendment, as it can improve soil structure and fertility.

What is Coltan?

Expand full comment

What Is Coltan?

Columbite-tantalite — coltan for short — is a dull metallic ore from which the elements niobium and tantalum are extracted

When refined, coltan becomes a heat resistant powder, metallic tantalum, which has unique properties for storing electrical charge.

It is found in major quantities in the eastern areas of Congo.

When refined, coltan becomes metallic tantalum, a heat-resistant powder that can hold a high electrical charge. These properties make it a vital element in creating capacitors, the electronic elements that control current flow inside miniature circuit boards. Tantalum capacitors are used in almost all cell phones, laptops, pagers and many other electronics.

The recent technology boom caused the price of coltan to skyrocket to as much as $400 a kilogram at one point, as companies such as Nokia and Sony struggled to meet demand.

The jewish fairy tale of 6 Million of them dying was fake. Millions did die, but most weren't jewish, most were goyim. Majority of "not jew" jews were just kicked out of Germany (as they've been over1000 times through out history, due to people in countries & towns getting fed up with their murdering, cheating & lying), relocated (heard many to Poland) then went over to fuck over the Palestinians thanks to Balfour agreement. Try not to have selective hearing- rewind if you miss something. I've no doubt your step dad, and many, many others, witnessed terrible things over there. But they didn't kill 6 million "jews", they killed mostly people from European countries, & as he said, many were killed after the war "ended".

Expand full comment

The same 6 million allegedly died in the first world war too. So I read. They aint big on inventiveness or creativity

Expand full comment

By the end of the war, the German supply chains had broken down, so there was starvation in the pow camps, as well as typhus. From what I understand, the camps that the Americans saw were housing non-Jewish eastern Europeans and Russians. The Americans then, without understanding the consequences, gave these people their ration packs, which included a lot of very unhealthy oily food, which caused mass deaths from the toxic shock because of the physiology of starvation , I think this was at Bergen Belsen, then they piled up the bodies and had that Jewish American movie guy Billy Wilder make a holocaust propo out of it, and forced the locals to tour through.

Expand full comment

Just in addition, there were no so-called "concentration camps" in the American "liberated" sector, they were all in the Russian territory, most in Eastern Europe. The American sector had DP and POW camps. The Auschwitz propo that the Americans made, the one with all the footage of the emaciated people standing around in bunk rooms and behind barbed wire - that was staged many months after the liberation, at a completely different time of year/season, and the people in it are local Poles from surrounding villages who they put in costume to film it, because the original inmates had already been shipped out.

I visited Dachau in the 1980s as a college student. They showed us the crematoriums and gassing area. I remember thinking at the time that it was way too small to be a systematic death camp. I think if you think about what kind of facilities you would need for a 100K person work camp to take care of delousing and cremating people who died as camp inmates the size of facilities are more believable. The Nazi's as bad as they were wouldn't waste a free skilled labor pool. The USA and Russians also had concentration camps to relocate populations. Was it horrible? Yes. Did they get transported in cattle cars? Yes. My uncle was in the US Navy during WW2. He was transported from Florida to California in a cattle car for his Navy deployment in the south Pacific. Things were a lot rougher back then. What ever happened it would be good for everyone to know what was really going on. A lot of major historic events like Pearl Harbor, 911, Moon landing, Oklahoma city, The Kennedy assignation, recent Maui, California and Texas fires, etc. The narrative doesn't add up.
